Festivals for foodies

Foodies, South Australia has you covered with some of the best food festivals, featuring master chefs, delicious cuisines and finger-licking vibes.

TASTING AUSTRALIA

Calling all foodies! Tasting Australia is our country’s premier eating and drinking festival. And it is certainly not one to be missed. It’s where lovers of bold flavours and unusual tastes come to discover what’s new, with events across the state (city, Adelaide Hills, Yorke Peninsula, Eyre Peninsula, Barossa, McLaren Vale and more), featuring world-class chefs from South Australia and beyond. Not only that, but locals gather from far and wide to enjoy both food and beverage experiences in Town Square, including masterclasses, tastings, lunches, and dinners. It’s no wonder it has been named as one of the most exciting food festivals in the world by Fodor’s Travel. Truly, it’s a celebration of South Australia’s inimitable sensory offerings. Tasting Australia is held every year in April-May.

BEER & BBQ FESTIVAL

Described as “equal parts, beer, BBQ and music,” the Beer & BBQ is sure to impress. Hosting brewers from all over the world (including some of our local legends), this festival brings together big, bold flavours from South Aussie producers, paired with some big-name chefs. Local kitchen heroes – Simon Bryant, Duncan Welgemoed and Jock Zonfrillo have been spotted at the grill in the past. The festival also has an impressive live music calendar to make it a perfect winter weekend!

BAROSSA CONTEMPORARY: FESTIVAL FOR THE CURIOUS

Barossa Contemporary is a fully immersive destination festival, pushing the boundaries of food, wine, and art in one of our most loved regions. Following a successful first edition in 2021, the Festival now features as a recurring spring event, so you should be prepared for “the grotesque, all-consuming, delicious, and beautiful.” Sounds good to us!
