We’re a state that does it all!

Are you SA born and bred, or has it become home more recently? Tell us about why SA is home for you.

Yep! I was born in SA and so it has been, and will be, my forever home.

Where do you spend your time?

At the moment, I spend most my time at Lot Fourteen. With my current internship, job and studies, I just can’t find myself being able to leave. I have the opportunity to surround myself with amazing and inspiring people every day. Being immersed in an innovative and advancing environment, I continuously find the motivation to be the best I can be.

What do you do and why here?

I’m currently a Space Communicator at the Australian Space Discovery Centre and Stone and Chalk’s Space Intern. Having graduated earlier this year, I knew I wanted to be based in SA since 2017. From when it was announced that SA was to be the home of Australia’s Space Agency, I knew our potential grew 10-fold. My goal is to be a bridge between business and our Space sector, as well as to encourage SA space start-ups to take that leap, reach out for support and use SA’s platform to their advantage to grow.

What are your favourite things to recommend to people new to South Australia?

Many people, when they think of South Australia, think of wine, our festivals, Art Shows, Kangaroo Island, our Outback and rightfully so. We’re a state that does it all! If I had to recommend one thing for people new to South Australia to explore, it’d have to be our city. As simple of an answer it may be, our city has incredible places to explore, visit and try. The best thing, you’re always going to find something new to do!

What is your tip for other locals?

Even when you think you’ve seen it all, there’s always something new just around the corner. We have so many places here in SA to try; from amazing cafés to restaurants but also activities! We have the most amazing beaches to the West but also the ability to see the stars if you head to the East. There’s always something to do, you just have to be open to spontaneity and be willing to explore.

Describe SA in one sentence.

The state that has more than meets the eye.

What’s the best thing about living here?

South Australia has a charm like no other. In recent years, it has grown to become a magnet for innovation. From businesses to ambitious projects and new buildings, Adelaide has both a modern touch and a heritage feel. I think Adelaide too resembles that of a big family. Everyone is connected somehow and like any family, there’s always excitement around meeting new people.
