Haloumi, smashed avo, bacon and egg rolls – these South Australian cafés have mastered the art of a good brunch. And if you are after coffee only, you cannot go wrong with the selection these cafés have to offer.
Brunch & coffee at its best
Peter Rabbit
Peter Rabbit is another of Adelaide’s great brunch spots. With a fun and quirky atmosphere, it is a must try. Peter Rabbit creates a rustic and industrial atmosphere, through its beautiful wrought iron front gate and dining area made from an old shipping container. Peter Rabbit has some of the best coffee to offer. With or without the kids, this café will delight you. Head for the bunny enclosure and have a play date with resident bunnies, Flopsy and Mopsy.
Whistle & Flute
Open weekdays from 7am for the early risers (or from 8am on weekends) Whistle & Flute offers an all-day brunch and some of the best coffee going round. With ample seating -with tables for both big groups and small – W&F has a relaxed vibe, perfect for first-time meetings or as a place to take your laptop and work solo for a little while. For an indulgent snack, be sure to try the chicken waffles.
Did we mention the café and liquor bar is dog friendly?
Monday’s Coffee Store
This funky little coffee store promises ‘Better coffee, better Mondays’ with their ethically sourced beans, roasted right here in South Australia. The friendly staff not only offer fantastic coffee and wholesome bagels to fill your belly, but we’ve also been told the hot chocolate is one of the best in town.
Located in the foyer of Chesser House, Monday’s is perfect for that half-hour client catch up or a brief escape from the office.
Exchange Specialty Coffee
Hanging around the East End? Head for Exchange! Established in 2013, Exchange wanted to make specialty coffee that had been responsibly sourced, accessible and easy to understand for consumers. It’s safe to say they succeeded with an incredibly loyal customer base now behind them. Along with their coffee, they offer a seasonable menu featuring all-day brunch- great for meetings over lunch.
And if your meeting runs over, you’re close to plenty of venues that are open well into the evening such as East End Cellars and the Belgian Beer Café.
Corner Store Café
Nestled in a picturesque street in Dulwich is the Corner Store Café. A local favourite, the Corner Store is known for its quaint atmosphere and all-day breakfast. Special shout out goes to their Smashed Avocado and Mr Green dishes – personal favourites of this writer. We recommend this spot for anyone needing a quiet place to talk to clients without the distractions of the city.
